Dust Collection System Helps Keep Spa Manufacturer Dust Free

A US facility that manufactures FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics) tanks for water pools and spas was looking to restructure its plant set up and seeking a new dust collection system. Initially, the entire warehouse was filtered through one baghouse/filtration system. The plant operators wanted to section off the room where holes were drilled in the tanks and have its own dust collection system to collect the particulate created. Plant managers set out to find a dust collection system that would not only efficiently collect the dust after the tanks had been drilled, but also one that utilized as little space as possible. After finding Aerodyne Environmental’s website, the plant managers reached out to Aerodyne’s Dan Navicky for suggestions on a dust collection system that would best suit its manufacturing process. After further inspection of the actual process and space provided it was suggested that the facility use a vertical GPC-24 with a GatorGate Double Dump Valve. The GPC is a high-efficiency ground plate cyclonic dust collector. The compact size of the GPC allows it to be placed where space is limited, making it a perfect fit for this facility. The double dump will provide an extra barrier of filtration in the dust reclamation process. When the holes are drilled in the tanks, some larger pieces of debris become present. The double dump will help filter those larger chunks of FRP out of the process before reaching the GPC. After installing the GPC and GatorGate at the company’s warehouse, plant operators claim they are extremely pleased with the performance of the two products and that the manufacturing process of the FRP tanks is now operating more efficiently at the facility.

Industrial Dust Collector Helps Filter Out Wood and Bugs

Sometimes, finding the exact industrial dust collector for a particular project can be more challenging than the manufacturing process itself. A US engineering facility that specializes in providing heating systems was contracted for a project for a company in Canada. The Canadian company ships processed wood worldwide. During the process, hot air is blown across shredded wood chips at around 200°F to kill any bugs. The wood is then shipped around to various sites worldwide and is mixed with coal to reduce emissions in power plants. The engineering facility needed a way to filter the wood chips out of the air before it was vented out of the building. After finding Aerodyne’s site, the company reached out with questions about our industrial dust collectors. After further inquiry about the facility set up and the process of prepping the wood, it was decided that the GPC dust collector would be an ideal fit for this particular facility and manufacturing process. With 5 GPC-84s (running at 20,000 CFM each), the engineers are able to filter the wood chips out of the air stream before it gets vented out of the building.

Sticky Material Dust Control Problems Trap US Manufacturer

A US plant that manufactures materials that are used as semiconductors was having issues with its cartridge collector and sticky material dust control problems. The facility manufactures boron nitride in furnaces. They boil out the byproduct, boron oxide, and 2000°C. The boron oxide is very hydroscopic; it’s extremely sticky and quickly grows is size. The company was using a cartridge collector, but due to the hydroscopic byproduct, the filters were clogging up quickly with particulate that had a mud-like consistency. Looking for a solution to the muddy issue, the plant manager reached out to Aerodyne Environmental for a solution. After considering the technicalities of the operation, it was suggested that the company place a SplitStream™ industrial dust collector in front of its cartridge collector to help remove most of the larger particulate. The SplitStream industrial dust collector can process and handle sticky material dust control problems with easy and help to prolong the life of the filters in cartridge collectors. The company decided to purchase an S4500 SplitStream industrial dust collector and use it as its primary airflow, while use 3000 CFM of fresh air as the secondary air flow. After a few weeks of operation with the S4500 added to its manufacturing process, the company’s issue of clogged filters has been reduced and the dust collector has help the filters last longer.

GPC Dust Collector Excels Where Dusty Filter Bag Fails

A facility in the US that sells microbrewery equipment was having dust issues within its production process. Dust was being produced when ingredients were poured into a tank. While pouring the product from the bag to the tank, a dust cloud was forming and leaving quite a mess behind. The facility was using a bag filter in its process that plant operators would have to manually remove and place back on the tank prior to loading the materials. Not only was the bag filter creating a dust problem, the constant need of removing it and placing it back on the tank was resulting in time lost and money wasted. Aerodyne's Cyclonic Dust Collector Relieves Coal Mine's Pressure Problems

A coal mine in Colorado was experiencing pressurization problems in its conveying line. The facility blows air through the mine shaft with the conveying line that takes the coal out of the mine. The air pressure in the shaft was too high and the mine operators were searching for a way to vent the excess air out. Not only was the air pressure too high, it was also knocking coal dust off of the conveyor, which leads to time spent cleaning it up or fines the company must pay. Irritated with time and money being lost over the air pressure issue, the company reached out to Aerodyne for assistance. After further inquires about the process and limited space available for large equipment, Aerodyne suggested the mine operators use the GPC dust collector. Welding Facility Cleans Up Dusty Mess with GPC!

A welding facility in Virginia recently purchased two Aerodyne GPC Dust Collectors to solve a dusty issue. The welding exhaust leaving the building was causing dust to collect on nearby cars, which was upsetting many of the locals. The GPCs were placed at the end of the exhaust apparatus and the sand sized dust particulates were collected while the clean air was filtered out of the building.

Power Plant Finds Solution with Vacu-Valve

A power plant in Ohio was having problems with over pressurization when feeding limestone into a furnace via pneumatic conveying. The plant operators wanted to put a slip stream with the cyclone at the facility to control the stream. The plant manager recently contacted Aerodyne to see if we could offer some assistance. After further information was gathered, it was concluded that the best solution to the plant's issue would be to attach a Vacu-Valve to its current cyclone. This material handling valve requires no power supply, lubrication, or controls. After months of use, the plant operators are happy with the low-maintenance and cost-effective vacu-valves they have in place at the facility.
